Well if you saw the interview erm w/e chemical romance came off of green day they said they were an insparation and they wen't touring together, so they're freinds.

First off, let me say this. Neither one of those bands are unique or creative. They follow trends and try to put their take on it. And that is their strong point. They write decent pop songs. This is a tough question to answer because Green Day has been around much longer than My Chemical Romance and their sound is completely different. But I would say that Green Day is better. Especially their very early stuff. It sounded somewhat raw. And raw is good. And then they put out Dookie. The raw sound was nowhere to be heard on that album BUT it was filled with hits such as When I Come Around, Welcome To Paradise, etc. I think My Chemical Romance has poor vocals. As do alot of bands in their category. Terrible singer. Green Day is much more skilled in that department and can also harmonize with the best of them. Green Day wins hands down.

GREEN DAY is awesome but alot of their older stuff is better but i still enjoy the new stuff....i own ALL of their albums so i'm the person you need to be talking to....but greenday is modern day punk and my chenical romance is emo so they have very different styles of music so i agree that you can't put them in the catagory.....alot of the old stuff is rele humerous and the new stuff is very punk( by ways of the lyrics, criticizing the government) but if the only songs you know of greenday is the stuff on the radio you're rele missing out on the true greenday.
