just had a go and called TEN times (set myself a limit). no joy, what do you reckon are the chances of getting through?

Hey its on late night ITV1 (a respectable british mainstream nationwide channel), I have some faith that they wouldn't be scammers.

Then again, I have no reason to have faith in this. I want a public inquiry to find out if my calls had any chance of being answered. After that I want another inquiry to see if the answers are set and not changed so that people cannot get them and they make more money. Ie regulation, similar to the national lottery, is needed! grrr

I wouldn't waste your money! They know what they're doing! I went through a phase of calling The Great Big British Quiz and spent quite a bit of money. I did get through to the studio a couple of times but the answers were so difficult to get that the chances of winning a decent cash prize were minimal. And the easier the question, the more calls they get (and have you noticed how few calls they take and how they stall for time?) and the less chance there is of getting through. There was something on the news the other day about how they're thinking of banning a lot of these shows because of the ethics of them! A lot of people think it's exploiting the poor, and unlike the National Lottery, none of the money goes to any good causes!

I wish I could find a way to stop people wasting money on this sort of blatant scam.
You will never get through until your phone bill is as much as the money you would (supposedly) win.
And as for Craig ' I'm not gay ' Stevens, who is he trying to fool?
It is interesting to note that whilst ITV's revenue from advertising has gone down over the past 18 months, since the introduction of these late night 'quiz' shows, its overall revenue has gone up, and it made £20million in profit.
You go figure it out.
Phone a friend instead!

add - yes, it may be a mainstream channel, but it is still scamming. You give them money and you get nothing in return. I suppose you could call it gambling, but TV gambling is illegal.
Sorry, but it's a big scam to lighten your pockets to pay for their crap.

I think it is a total con. Even if you do eventually manage to get through, the questions, or posers have multiple answers that run into hundreds, if not thousands. You have more chance of flying to the moon on a kite, than winning big money on the mint.

well...i have phoned once and didnt bother again...however they have a clever way of making you think you actually have a chance! which is the way they make their money...but i find myself watching it and actually getting addicted to watching it then i realise iv been watching it for hours! irrelevant info but very cunning TV dont you agree??

you need to at least call about 20 to 30 times, but this is how they make your money, then they put you on hold and they choose one randomly, then when the quizz is finished they cut you off so you could call again, trust me it is not woth it.
