Sylmar, CA 1971, 6:00 AM, a 6.6 magnitude earthquake lasting 60 seconds, killed 64 people, many millions in damage, especially to the VA Hospital, Olive View Hospital, I-5 to 14 Freeway interchange, and the Van Norman Dam.

USGS has a list of historic earthquakes here http://earthquake.usgs.gov/regional/world/historical_mag_big.php
if you click on the earthquake it should tell you the info you need. Though duration isn't given because it tends to vary depending on where you measure the earthquake from.
