Completely normal... most guys do it because they have higher sex drives then women (especially as teenagers), and this helps them relieve sexual frustration.
In fact, I'd recommend that women do it too... especially teenage girls. If you knew how awesomely good an orgasm feels, you might understand his urge to masturbate better.
Also, masturbation teaches you about your body... what you like, dislike, and how to have an orgasm... this will make you a better lover and you'll have a much much much better sex life!
Actually, if the abstinence people were really trying to stop teen sex, they should teach everyone how to masturbate... give out vibrators in sex ed. That would be awesome!

Masturbation is normal as long as it is not done too often. If he prefers masturbating than to be with you, there is something wrong! Just check for signs if he is becoming more of a pervert.

Yes, it is a normal part of growing up. It is also okay for a girl to masturbate. Just about all of them do, they just don't talk about it as much as guys do.
