A poster is 25cm taller than it is wide. It is mounted on a piece of cardborad so that there is a 5cm border on all sides.If an area of the border alone s 1350cm^2 what are the dimesions of the poster.

x * (x+25) = Z cu. cm.

[ (x+10) * (x+25+10) ] - [ x * (x+25) ] = 1350
[ (x+10) * (x+35) ] - [ x² +25x ] = 1350
x² + 45x + 350 - x² - 25x = 1350
20x + 350 = 1350
20x = 1000
x=50

So poster is 50 cm by 75 cm.
