It could be baby acne, which usually peaks at six weeks due to the hormones left from the mother. It could also be an allergy to laundry detergent or fabric softener. Make sure you're using a baby detergent, and it never hurts to rinse twice. If it continues, you should probably take the baby and let the pediatrician have a look. Good luck!

Hi, my baby is 5 months old and he to has a face rash, but this is due to drooling and teething. As for a 5 week old it may be nothing more than baby pimples, but do put in a call to the doc. One other thing it maybe is the powder or liquid you wash his clothes in.

This is a difficult one to call bcuz there could be an external agitator that is causing this rash. For instance, it could be the particular brand of washing powder, or baby soap, moisturizer (if you are using mineral oil then that could be the prime agitator). If you are not breast feeding then it could be the particular formula that you are using as well. You need to analyze the products that you are using and try ruling them out one by one.

Usually newborns about that age get their acne baby face rash. If you think it is more then that and is irritating to him, just take him in.

a rash in a child/toddler/baby should always be seen by their doctor. Could be a simple skin issue to something a lot worse. DO NOT treat it yourself putting ,lotions or ANYTHING on it could make it worse. The doctor will tell you what it is how to treat it.

It might itch, but it might not. Does he rub his face all day or is it just from time to time? He might just be tired.
I'm sure he's fine, but just to be safe can you describe the rash better? Size of the bumps? Color? Where is it located?

See your doctor, it could be thrush or acne. Is his tounge and inside of mouth white? Is so, possibly thrush.
