I'm all for equal rights. What I'm against is special rights, like quotas or giving advantages in admissions & hiring based on race. Those types of things violate the equal protection clause. Political correctness has long ago reached the point of violating the 1st amendment.

YES!!

Examples? A guy I know pondered recently why it's okay to put a bumper sticker on a car that says, "Native Pride" but if you put "White Pride" on there, you'd be called a racist and probably get an *** kicking.

I recently hired an assistant and had 3 applicants; 2 minorities and 1 white girl. If I had rejected any of the minorities, I would have had to write an explanation as to why - but if I didn't want to hire the white girl, no explanation necessary.

Political correctness is totally out of control when you can get into trouble for saying, "Merry Christmas". It's not an attempt at conversion - merely well wishes. Should I be offended that no one has ever said, "Happy Hannukah" to me? I'm not....

Absolutely.
Both started out with honorable and good intentions - but since have grown tentacles and invaded every facet of our lives.
When the term "illegal alien" can be construed as a racist term - that's simply ridiculous.
When people with better qualifications are rejected to fill a percentage quota - that's equally ridiculous.
That's not to say we don't need to address these issues, it's just that we don't need to do the surgery with a hatchet.

To be technical, it just TOOK control. LOL!

If you look at the facts, there is a lot of inequality. For example, woman's pay for the exact same job is actually falling relative to men. Class mobility is at a standstill.

I realize to some its an uncomfortable truth. Its still a truth.

The first and last are deffinately out of control.

I'm not sure that the equal rights movement can get out of control,
although some of the proponents are a bit fanatic about it.

I don't necessarily agree with the idea of political correctness. If I have an enemy, I would prefer to know about it. But some people can't learn to keep their mouths shut.
