For $100: In world history, what did America participate in that lasted about 3 years and 8 months?

You guessed it! WWII.

Well, why the heck are we still in Iraq? Is FDR the only one that knows how to go to war, and win? Or was Sadam and the terrorists that replaced Sadam more powerful than Nazi Germany and Imperialist Japan COMBINED in the 40's?

Keep in mind that although US involvement was only about 3 1/2 years, the world involvement was closer to 6 years. We jumped into Iraq at the first sign of trouble, whereas only Europe, China, and Japan were engaged at first.

That said, you are right. We need a "wartime consigliere" as a presidential advisor who will leave not one brick upon another in Iraq as long as the barbarians continue to fire weapons at us or at each other.
