2-3 months really? My baby is a slow developer too. Well its time to start waving intersting things in her face. Thanks for your post.

okay anyways I just went to this website

http://www.babycenter.com/general/baby/babydevelopment/6476.html

(if you want to copy and paste in your browser it will take you tehre) and it said ADVANCED babies will bat at things at three months, and is listed as being an emerging skill (half of all kinds can do) at four months, but not listed as a mastered skill at four months so your child is actually right on target. So no worries..for me either lol.

Your best bet is to take your baby to the Dr's. Chances are though that if there was a problem they would have spotted it at his 3 month well baby exam. But talk to your Dr. they went to school for this stuff, chances are your baby is probably just a bit on the lazy side. I have a personal friend that has a son that is 10 mos old and he wont crawl. They said theres nothing wrong with him hes just a big ol lazy baby. Dont get yourself all upset, those books are just a point of reference to suggest what is suppsed to be "normal" but as any parent knows normal is all relative to the personality of the child.

Discuss your concern with your doctor, as well as any other milestones he had achieved. Does he bring his hands to his mouth or reach for you? Is he rolling onto his side or his tummy yet? Does he make eye contact with you or others? Does he watch the dog or the cat? Is he babbling? There are some ways to tell if he is developing normally and/or if he has vision problems, even if he isn't reaching one particular milestone.

Discuss it with the pediatrician, but try not to worry too much. It's only a problem if he CONSISTENTLY misses milestones at which point there will be an assessment to find out the cause.

Babies don't run on a timetable they are all different, some take alittle longer to reach their mile stones than others. Just keep encouraging him and it will happen naturely. Of course if it doesn't happen in a month or 2 then yes it may be time to have him checked over by a Dr.

Till then try not to worry remember they don't read the books we read so they don't know when they are "surpose" to do things.

i could suspect that your milk grant is probable diminishing. Mine began o at around 9 months and the healthcare expert gave me some meds to help carry back my grant. I had the comparable venture you probably did, my son awoke each couple of hours. We found out that it substitute into because of the fact he substitute into hungry. We tried supplementing with formula, yet he would not take that in the time of any respect when you consider that he substitute into exclusivly breastfed. i could say ask the pediatrician if she would be able to prescribe you something to help carry back your grant (it would not impression the toddler-the meds it extremely is) and attempt to dring extra water which will help too. additionally there is a few organic tea pronounced as mom's Milk- you may get it at maximum wellbeing food shops and that helped me plenty too. So eventualy my grant got here back yet my son substitute into waiting to wean himself at 11 months- and nevertheless would not take formula or breastmilk in a bottle... So we ended up putting him on Pediasure for somewhat until he have been given used to extensive-unfold finished milk. After he began eating that surprisingly stable he slept plenty extra suitable. ultimate of success to you, i be attentive to what your dealing with and that i'm hoping which you get it resolved quickly!

2-3 months is normal, but that doesn't mean 4 months is wrong. Just start putting things in front of him for him to grab. Get a small toy and hold it up and make sure he sees it. Touch his hands with it so he can get the idea that he has to use his hands if he wants to get it. Hold it out a little further away from him the next time and keep practicing with him.

If he is not up to speed, try talking with the doctor to see if they'll check his motor skills, boys do develop a little slower than girls. And if he is fine, just give him time...or something to catch his attention like, black and white objects or bright colored toys.

Each child is different than any other. Just because some book says that your child should be doing such and such doesn't mean that EVERY child at that age is doing so. Let your child grow and progress at his own rate.

Actually, you need to take your baby to the pediatrician immediately. This strongly suggests that your baby is blind. It may also be that your baby has another developmental problem like muscular dystrophy or leukodystrophy. However, the prognosis is NOT good in almost every case. Take the baby to the doctor right away!!!
