Well, Pharohs had absolute power over Egypt. Their existence is what kept the natural order within Egypt balanced (or so they believed). Really the Pharoh was almost like the main uniting factor of a population, not just a leader. Pharoh was considered God, and immortal, more than human.

Presidents on the other hand, are not born presidents, but are elected. They do not have absolute power, but their power is limited. They most definitly are not Gods, are not considered immortal, and tend to get assasinated (It was very rare for a pharoh to be assasinated.) People do not have blind obidience or belief in presidents, and will not build pyramids for them. Presidents dont rule for life times.

In terms of similarities, well, they are at the head of a large political hierarchy, and are figure heads of the nation. The measures they both impose affect the economy and people's lives. Their foriegn policies affect people in other countries as well as their own.

For example the foriegn policy of America is an intervenionist one, that has affected many people around the world. The Egyptian one on the other hand was not so interventionist, in fact the world's first peace treaty was made by Ramsess II following the battle of Kadesh against the Hitittes (not sure if thats spelt right). Egypt, the super power in the ancient times chose not to be interventionist, it had no need to because its natural borders protected the country and kept it intact (Egypt has the same borders until today).

Other than that, there arent any similarities since they were totally different rules.

As far as I know, no President has married his sister. I think this is the most important difference. And a little thing called an election here and there.

they are the two seen equivalent to men, surprisingly legally. women human beings in historical Egypt ought to very own assets, enter into felony contracts, carry severe status positions and get divorced, merely like we can now. Inequalities have been based plenty extra on social classification than gender, like in as we talk's society.
