Copper. Copper and Silver are both good conductors of heat and electricity, but silver is too expensive to use in pipes or roofs.

Silver? You know how much that would cost, to have the water pipes and/or the roofing made of silver? Well, a lot. It's copper they yse for these things, although lately they use plastic for pipes, even cheaper. They use copper for parts of roofs and eaves still.
