americans shouldnt be forced to fight a war that they dont belibe in and thats based on a lie and failed policy. thats inhumane to force someone to go in to combat just because you have a failed policy.

I'm in the Navy, so I couldn't be drafted, but if I was needed over there, I'd go.

No. The U.S. protection force is all voluntary. There isn't a draft. the ingredient that you're pertaining to contained in the political section is termed "mudslinging" - type of like what junior severe females do even as they're being stupid, infantile and immature - that is purely rumors and politacal vote getting propaganda and scare approaches to attraction to the commonly used public into balloting for one party or the different - similar idea because the rumors and crap that is going round in the course of the vote for promenade queen. There won't be a vote anywhere in the near future, if at all. The right has been stoking the fires under this issue all day, blowing it out of proportion. A member of congress said he wanted to reintroduce a bill ro reinstate the draft when the new congress convenes in January. His party leadership has said they won't support it so it's DOA.

Well, technically, the draft never really left. The Service Selection paperwork that all 18 year old males have to sign is in case **** goes bad. I think there's nothing wrong with the draft. I do, however, think it should be open to any and all people who are capable of serving, be it male or female. I would stay and fight for my country. Though I don't agree with some of it's going ons... this is my home.

During the Vietnam era, all one had to do was be enrolled in school to be exempt, or get married as they usually don't get to the married men. You can also be a conscientious objector if you don't believe in killing someone anytime and serve as a non- combatant in some capacity. An actor got out of serving by being the sole support of his mother.

I'm sure it won't pass at this time. This is just one of Rangel's wrangles. What would it take before you would be willing to serve? What if we are attacked again, would that do it? You know there are a lot of terrorist out there who want us all dead. At what point would you want to help protect your country?

What would have happened if the men in less say the ww2 would have said , I think I'll just stay here holding mommies apron strings and let somebody else do the fighting . If we don't like the way our elected people run our country vote them out . until then do as your told too. Who want's to be killed ? I sure didn't but I did my duty so why can't the people of today ? If you don't like this country leave . Thanks a VET.

We should have the draft reinstated. At least with the draft middle/upper income people have to worry about their kids having to go to war. Maybe they would not be so pro war if their kids had a hand in the fighting instead of just the poor/lower and middle class kids who need to earn money for college.

My first thought was God Help the Young men of USA. Alas Canada now has a Bush wantabe in power. I'm not sure you'd find safety here. Sorry. Our own are coming home in bodybags from Afghanistan. A lot brave young men are being lost.

Who's being drafted first? Are they going to have the same money benefits? Besides, it'll never pass, not unless they want a protest in every state...
