My husband is a pretty tough guy. He can scrape himself up and barely take notice, and he isn't the type that need constant attention. But god forbid if he gets sick! He always seems so miserable. He'll be complaining about symptoms I had a week earlier though that I didn't think were enough to even really take notice. I don't know if he just gets sicker with the same bugs, or if he has a lower pain tolerance or what. I feel bad because I have to admit I'm not the most sympathetic person with sick people....but come on! What do you think? Do men get sicker than women, do they feel the pain worse, or are they just being babies about it?

It not that they get sicker than women. I think women in general are a little tougher when it comes to dealing with sickness. I know that men are supposed to be "stronger", at least physically but women are tougher mentally. And that's the same reason why women can give births. Men don't.

This is from a older woman that has seen alot of sick men. They don't go to bed over a small cold. But if they get really sick.Well all hell breaks loose. They turn into little boys again that want their wife to be mommy.Which is really okay.I mean it is the best time to show them how much u love them.Plus we did take a oath and I do know sicker was in it.hahaha So I say go ahead and baby them.Just make sure they pay u back.hehehe Oh I forgot the main part of the question. No they do not get sicker...Another thing I noticed.I don't see a answer from a man .hahahahahahaha

I think you are right on most of your ideas.

YES, some people have a higher pain threshold than others.

I don't think that men get "sicker" tho. They DO like to be pampered when they do get sick.

After all, WHO took care of them and pampered them when they were little and at home???? Guess who? 99% of the time it was a nice, understanding, warm, sympathetic and nurturing FEMALE called MOM. The FEMALE touch. There is NOTHING like it!!! I really think men expect (right or wrong) for their wives to "pamper" them when they get sick. Some men are just BIG cry babies and others aren't. You love him? Just accept him as he is and, yes, pamper him when he needs it. He is just being a man.

When I get sick, I get quiet and nobody knows I am sick until it is obvious and they ask. Good luck. Pops

Ha Ha Ha. Ask any man, "If you and I are sick with the exact same symptoms, who is more sick, you or I?" He will almost always say HIM. I tested this while dating years ago. Men always think they are soooo sooo much more sick than anyone else. I have little compassion for my hubby when he's sick because he's SUCH a baby, and usually I'm sick too, but he seems to ignore that fact!!! "You can't possibly feel as bad as I do!" Oh Paleez!!!! The symptoms are the same, women just toughen up cuz we still have a family to take care of and no one is gonna do it for us.

They think they feel pain and are sicker But when it comes to being sick or in pain my husband is the biggest baby in the world It gets to the point that I told him I thought he was tough but I married a whimp it seems to be helping he seems a little stronger.

I have noticed the same thing at my house! I drag into work sick, still cook meals, etc. He gets the same thing a week later, and he's off work for days in bed! I've always thought that since his work is more physical than mine, that his body needs the rest maybe more than mine. I think my tolerance and drive when I'm under the weather is stronger. (And yes....men can be babies!)

No they don't get sicker they just whine about it more. I think it's internal whine button from when they were kids and their mommys took care of them. EVERY guy I know is the biggest whiner when it comes to being sick.

I have a low compassion rate for "sick" men. When we're sick, we still run the household, cook, clean, shop, take care of the kids and the HUSBAND. When he's sick, the world stops. I DO NOT believe they suffer more than we do, we just suck it up.

My fiance acts like a damn baby when it comes to getting sick. It's like the end of the f*cken world for him when all it is is a small fever. I mean, no one likes being sick but for gods sake, you'll survive! I think he just likes to be pampered when he's ill. =/
