as with most deviation from the original material, It upset me at first, but it grows on you and makes some kind of sense in hindsight.
The true test however is where the franchise goes with him in the film(s) that follow(s).

Terrible. They are moving away from the sourse material so badly.
First of all, Supes is supposed to Mr. Goody-2-Shoes, world's biggest boyscout, and all for the American way. So its hard for me to believe that Supes would knowingly hook up with Lois, do the do as they say, and never feel badly about it. He knows he lies to her everyday, yet he still does it. Plus, the kid is out of wedlock, and therefor makes him a deadbeat dad this whole time. Sure he never found out about it. But are you telling me that between the hook-up and his trip he never used super hearing or x-ray vision to accidentally discover a kid in Lois;s oven?
2. This whole "father" theme is terrible. Supes has one father and his name is Pa Kent. Its Pa where Supes gets his values from. Its Pa where Supes earned his noble, giving, and gentle nature. But they payed Brando a million bucks and now he is used in every movie since. Jor-El was the biological father, but Kent should have been portrayed as the true father. The whole, the father is the son is the father is krap.

it was pointless... but it at least was a momentary break from the monotony of the year's dullest movie...
