I am a guitarist / songwriter. There are no musicians around here, but I want to take my writing to the next level. Add drums, keyboard, maybe some other stuff to. Right now all I am using is a mic from radioshack that cost me $10, my acoustic guitar, and a tascam 4 track cassette recorder. How do I take my music to the next level?

I do not have access to musicians, I'm 18 and live in the middle of nowhere, so finding people is like impossible.

Get yourself some virtual studio programs for your pc. there are a number a few out there. Have a look at the following websites.

Probably the best program for someone like you would be Cakewalk home studio.

get some friends of yours with instruments. a lot of 'emo' kids and stuff own guitars and can lay them well. go see someone who is excellent at playing drums. like shows or something and ask how serious they are with that other band. or people they were playing with. or someone doing a drum solo. this kid at my school did a drum solo and he was great so yeah, find peoplle like that. --this sounds bad but maybe some rich kids with instruments :] hope all works out
