x + 2x + x +2x = 72
6x=72
x=12

Therefore the rectange is 12 by 24 units.

The rectangle is 72 units

Since the ratio is

1/2 = 1 + 2 = 3

3 = the total

- - - - - - - - -

The new ratio is

1/3 and 2 / 3

- - - - - - - -- - - -

The answer is:

1/3(72) = 24 Units

2/3(72) = 48 Units

- - - - - - - - - - - -

The length is 48 Units

The width is 24 units

- - - - - - - - - - - - -s-

Let x be the shorter side, then 2x is the longer side,
Equate the expression in terms of x to the numerical value:
2(x+2x)=72
6x=72
x=12
Thus the short side is 12 units, and the long side is 24 units.

well if you have a rectangle you have two long sides and tow short sides if you divide the perimeter by two you will ber the long side plus the short side
36

now you will divide by three because you ratio 1+2=3

12

thus one side is 12 the long side is 24

12 X 24

if x is width, then 2x is length. and p = sum of sides = x+x+2x+2x

6x = 72. so, x = 12.

if x = 12 = width, then

2x = length = 24.

2w + 4w (l=2w) = 72
6w = 72
width = 12
length = 24

12+12+24+24 = 72

change 1:2 into variables which are 1x and 2x
p=1x+1x+2x+2x
72=6x
12=x
therefore two sides equal 12 and two sides equal 24
