Sorry people but the distribution of copyrighted material is not legal in any way shape or prm be it Kazza, limewire, torrents etc.
When you purchase music you also purchase a limited liscence which allows YOU and YOU only certain rights regaiding making copies etc. Distribution is not included in this.
It is legal to share non-copyrighted stuff on these networks BUT NOT to share copyrighted material.

All the answers you receive are from ignorant people. They are incorrect. The program itself is legal, downloading music without paying for it is ILLEGAL. The act in itself is illegal and not condoned by the RIAA. If you get sued 2 weeks after downloading songs from limewire don't be surprised since the RIAA has agents lurking in these programs busting people who download music. Same goes for movies, just a name change to the MPAA instead of RIAA.
