My daddy was Rom, born in Ohio, raised in Iowa; Maman was born in France, caucasian; family traced to Austria in the 1700s, lose the trail after that; all my paperwork says 'caucasian' - there is, however, way back, my daddy's great-great-great-grandma, a black lady, not a slave, who ran away with the great-great-great-grandpa, went to Europe; their family came back a generation or so later. That's about all I know! I'm proud of her for having the guts to do that!
