This is from wikipedia "The scenes that took place in Redondo Beach, California were actually filmed in Ventura, California. There are no freeways that lead to the beach"
I wasn't sure, but I thought so when I saw the movie a few weeks ago. I lived in that area, and i recognized everything from the scene. Glad I was right!
