It takes at least one month to take full effect.

If you take it on Sunday, you had better use another form of birth control on Friday.

Using a condom will not mess things up, it will protect you.

Side effects are on the page that comes with the pills.

It should help cramps. I am not sure about acne.

1. One month. It is safer within a week, but only as effective as it should be after a month.

2. No. But, be sure to use a condom, as you mentioned. You are not 100% protected at any time, especially that soon after starting a pack.

3. Weight gain (depending on brand), mood swings for the first few months, change in length and more definite regularity of period.

4. Cramps, yes. Acne, only certain brands (like Ortho Tri Cyclen, NOT Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo). It has to do with the amount and type of hormones involved. Talk to your gynecologist about the type that's right for you.

Good luck!

The pill regulates your period. If you just start taking the pill, it takes a month to be safe before you have sex. There are many side effects. It does not help acne. There are better alternatives these days. Try that ring of some kind. Apparently you leave it in for 3 weeks or so.

1) usually takes at least 1 month to get it in your body

2) if you have sex and are safe you will not mess any thing up...but if the condom breaks (if you use a condom) you may still get pregnant because the pill needs time to adjust in to your body and work effectively

3) side effects....bloating, weight gain(in some)...emotional changes...mood swings

4) yes it helps with acne and cramps
