she's a great role model, she inspired so many girls to take up skating, song writing and encouraged them to break away from the pop princess scene that dominated the lives of too many teen girls. it was so cool when Avril first came out and young girls finally started daring to be different. I'm 17, I have supported her since the very first time I heard 'complicated' and I think she rocks. good luck with your essay :D
