How important was your college education?

I had no official college education. I came down with a case of glandular fever just before finishing my high school certificate and then left altogether after my best friend died at the age of 16.
Because i had to learn some technical skills i went and did some in depth on the job training (didnt get any money for it. it was all voluntary) and loved it before moving into the city to find a fulltime job.
I went through about 5 parttime small positions before taking on a job in communications when i was 17 and have been working with the same company ever since. Im now 27 and am a Team Leader within my department.
A college education is extremely important but if you have the determination and will to survive and get higher then it will happen.

A college education "opens the door for you". That is, of course, field of endeavor related. It does nothing else. However, you cannot prove your worth unless you are given the chance. Generally speaking, a college education is well worth the investment, unless it happens to be "basket weaving" or some other unmarketable skill. For instance, technical fields are pretty much "closed doors" without a degree.

College Was SooooooooooDamn Hard And 9yrs of my life...but I wanted it so bad.....It was worth every cent and sense of my being......luv kara
