Nicknamed "Big Bird" for his height (6'4", and 225 pounds), Larry Robinson was a big and strong defenceman yet highly mobile. He played 17 seasons for the Montreal Canadiens and another three seasons for the Los Angeles Kings, until his retirement after the 1992 season. Twice he won the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the league's most outstanding defenceman and won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the 1978 playoffs. Robinson was a dominant player whose talent and leadership helped lead the Canadiens to seven Stanley Cups.

He also won the Stanley cup as coach of the New Jersey Devils, and also brought them back to the finals the following season but losing in the 7 game vs the Colorado Avalanche.

In 1998, he was ranked number 24 on The Hockey News' list of the 100 Greatest Hockey Players.

I dont say I have a favorite. I just LOVE hockey. I am from Alaska and my senior year of highschool was Scott Gomez's (#23 New Jersey Devils) Freshman year at the same school, so Im kinda partial to the Dev's. Other than that, I just love a GOOD, hard fought hockey game!

First, your modern-day determination makes me sick. the purely guy I hate extra is Krusty Alfredson of the Sens. (not something personal) second, Mario replaced right into a very good participant, besides the undeniable fact that, my determination might want to nonetheless be Bobby Orr. modern-day gamers, not confident i encounter anybody playing i imagine that a lot of, even Sid desires extra time to impact me yet hey i have considered Hull, Howe, Gretzky, Lemieux, Richard, Lafleur, Perrault, Messier, Coffey, Orr, Bourque, Bossy so Sid has some enormous shoes to fill.

Gordie Howe.

The man was a beast, gifted goal scorer who could also kick your butt if need be. And he played right up until his 50's (and very well at that). Best of all, if you have ever met him the first thing you would notice is the man is nothnig but class! He is one of the best embassadors of hockey ever.
