I'm dealing with a harassment situation with this guy in my class. I asked my parents for advice and we're reporting him tomorrow. So why would I feel so bad about doing this? Things used to be so good between us a long time ago. I don't want him to get expelled and I might actually kinda miss having him around. And I don't wanna be the one to do this to him. At the same time, I don't wanna be treated this way and I know I deserve better. Can somebody please help me out? I'm usually really happy and carefree but I'm so miserable right now!

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE CRAP FROM OTHERS. Don't look for fights either, don't offend others either. BUT! Don't buckle under pressure. That's a fight you were not looking for. You're reacting, not acting so don't feel bad and stand up and deliver.

When I was a kid it used to be that someone who told on someone else was called a tattle-tale or a crybaby.
As I entered elementary school, people who told on other people were called teachers pets, sissies, snitches, and stool pigeons.
As I got into high school, if you complained you were called wuss, rat.

So I think we are in many ways preconditioned to believe that to tell on someone is a weakness, and makes us socially unacceptable, even women who are raped tend to shy away from telling because of being thought that people will say she brought it on herself.

The problem with not telling is that the person causing you the problem will feel emboldened by your lack of action and very likely will do it again or even escalate.
