It should definitely be used for medical/medicinal purposes.

You're going to get conflicting answers on this one. I don't think there is any evidence to suggest that marijuana helps with depression; there is evidence that it stimulates appetite and can help alleviate pain and can be of benefit in conditions such as glaucoma and multiple sclerosis, but these benefits are not universally accepted. The issue of legalizing marijuana is really mostly a political issue. Again, there is debate about this, but many would suggest that marijuana use is less harmful than, say, alcohol use. The politics of legalizing an illicit drug make it unlikely that its going to happen anytime soon in North America. If you believe in the "war on drugs" you're certainly not gong to support it (see Bruce Alexander - Peaceful Measures for an alternate view).

I think it should be legal, from previous experiences it does partially infact cure depression, but only at the time when you are feeling really bad. It in whole doesnt cure depression totally, depression is only cured by yourself.. no matter what people try to say, pills are just an excuse to make you think your feeling better.. but they dont help. Back to the point.. I think marijuana should be legalized, it is not hurting anyone, if you get those bad symptoms from it, then dont smoke it..simple as that. I know for alot of people it helps them concentrate better, become in a better mood, etc..

I think it should be used by those suffering from nausea in Cancer patients and the like. But helping depression I don't believe that. I know of many who become paranoid if they use it long enough. And interestingly enough I also know many who have used it very seriously and often and ended up with serious mental illnesses including Schizophrenia and bi polar disorder. Yeah, I know, you don't believe me. But I can name you a huge list of people. If smoked occasionally should be ok. Check link below

I think it causes paranoia because it's illegal. Yes, marijuana should be legal. Less harmful than alcohol and cigarettes. And a major contributor to crime. Also, law enforcement can concentrate on harder drugs and other crimes. Also, you can tax it and currently the dealers aren't paying income tax on it, so it would enhance the federal budget by both cutting out enforcing it, getting the small dealers out of prison and collecting on taxes.
Also, there are health benefits as already mentioned.

I agree. At least make it legal for medical purposes.

(by the way to that one chick, it only makes you paranoid if you smoke too much)

Yes, because things like alcohol and tobacco are legal and they kill you faster than pot and there hasn't been a proven fact that pot leads to harder drugs or can kill you.

I would not have a problem with legalizing medical marijuana,

marijuana should be legal, but not because it "helps depression." in many people, it can CAUSE depression, anxiety, paranoia, etc. also, if people have pre-existing, underlying stress/anxiety problems, marijuana can trigger episodes.
