These are not too hard to do. The biggest pain in the butt is the big plastic shield that they put on the front of the car underneath. There are about 10 little clips and retainers that hold it on and if you don't put them back in, it falls down and rubs on the ground and costs about $300 to replace it.

Other than that, it is like any other oil change.

Right here would be a good place to start. Jack the front of the car up and place on jack stands. Another method would be to use ramps to drive up on. Remove the dipstick and the oil cap. Unscrew the drain plug from the oil pan and drain the oil into a suitable container. Look up next to the oil pan and unscrew the oil filter canister using an oil filter wrench of the correct size. Lubricate the seal of the new oil filter and replace it. Lower the car or put three quarts in and back off ramp. Top off oil , remove the dipstick and cap and inspect for leaks.
Tools and parts required:
One floor jack, and jack stands or drive on ramps.
New oil filter and five quarts of oil.
17 MM, 15MM, 13MM wrenches
Strap wrench for oil filter.
Drain pan

well is pretty simple if you have the right tools.
if you have a set of ramps to lift the car that will make everything easier, but if you don't just get under the car,you will see the oil pan, which look like big square box with a bolt, remove the bolt and let the oil drain

The oil change on these cars are quite messy, i wouldn't recomend anyone with a VW to change the oil on their car because it involves a new type of oil filter and you must remove alot of the undercarriage fairing to reach the oil pan. This kind of work is best done on a pit or a hoist.

if you need to ask just take it to a lube shop, then you dont have to mess with lifting and supporting it,draining ,refilling ,getting the filter off and on and then legally disposing of all the waste, and for less than 50.00 let someone else get dirty
