Well, tomatoes have an acidic pH...so it would act as a drying and peeling agent similar to most acne medications that use benzoil peroxide...but as for complexion, due to the peeling effect of the acid levels, it would probably tend to "lighten" the skin tone.

not sure about tomatoe pulp but i know that tomatoe in general is good! for the face, i slice half a tomatoe, and have a pot of hot water with steam on the side i rub my face with the tomatoe then i cover my face with a towel on top of the steam and do this for 10 minutes then i wash my face and clean up with rose water, and my face is so clean and shiney and fresh, the next day im pimple free ,oil and dirt free too. its great for the face

It's much better if you just use ketchup, it's easy to apply and it's very convenient.
