When you are working out in the gym or where ever you may be, you should rest that part of your body that you've been working on for a short period of time. My brother picked the time periods of 30-60 min but it really depends on how long you've been working your muscles or abs in your case.

I heard that workouts should be done every other day - slip in the cardio so you get that too. MY wife got a niiice 6-pack and she did crunches and things plus jogging... Good luck with your 6 pack - all I have is a keg!

I read alot about fitness and you do need to take a day off every 2-3 days. This allows the muscles to grow and gives them a chance to relax. The blood needs to flow freely.

You heard wrong. Any muscle group needs 24-28 hours of rest before working out again. In the Army we alternated hard day and easy day physical training. Hard day was pushups and situps, easy day was running.

yes you can work on them everyday but from my opinion i would say work out one day and then let the next day be your resting day then next day work out the next day rest and so on so they have time to actually hmmm what the word?? no grow but build the six pack. good luck.
