Very easy.... on your tool bar, go to Format/Numbering and select the roman numerals there. When you want to use it, just click the button on the toolbar for numbering and it will be automatic. When you don't want it, click the icon again (it's a toggle).

I also believe that you can right mouse button click the icon and you'll find a 'format' shortcut there.

A little more info about what you want to know would help. But ...

You can type them in manually. -OR-

You can try setting your document up in Outline format, which means that paragraphs will end up getting Roman numerals. It'll probably take some experimenting to get it to work the way you want it to, though.
