They are both pretty darn nice. The Zune has a slightly larger screen, but it's a little thicker. The Zune has limited wi-fi capability, which lets you share songs wirelessly among Zunes. I would get the iPod though, because you can put iPod Linux on it and go hardcore pirate. Arrr.

My preference is the iPod as well --

For now, you are better of with an iPod until Microsoft get things maybe on v3 or beyond.
