yes you must be honest, its the only way. you could try asking your partner to get off to a good start by informing him of all the things your mum is interested in. then your partner will know what sort of questions to ask her, and get him to say something nice to her, to compliment her. Then as long as he makes an effort to be pleasant and polite, i am sure he will win your mum over in no time. let her see the wonderful things in him that you have found, and tell her that you are happy they are finally meeting!

try to look forward to it, smile and stay positive and i am sure things will be fine... good luck!

Both of you try to be happy, polite and chatty with your mum and hope for the best, one never knows how parents are going to act to a choice of boyfriend, but help him to relax as he will be nervous. Have a word with your mum beforehand and tell her that you like this guy and not to spoil it for you. Good luck..

ask him to bring over some type of dessert, like pie or something (it is holiday season!)

tell him to dress nicely, and be polite, shake her hand, look her in the eye. not to be too affectionate in front of her (like don't make out or kiss in front of her, or touch each other too much), but not too awkward either. he needs to show her how comfortable u guys are together, as well as respectful in HER eyes.

have him try to make conversation w/ her, and if she says anything of interest, to ask her questions.. my mom didnt' like one of my ex boyfriends before, because of his looks and background, but she had to admit that he was Friendly and did a good job in talking with her. also, he brought over flowers for me alot, and she had to admit he was doing a "his job".

good luck! the easier u are togehter, the less u have to worry! it really makes a diff when ur boyfriend gets along w/ ur parents, like my current boyfriend!!! :)

***oh, and tell him that she knows about the "closeness"... u and him are tag teaming against ur mom!! :)

yeah, u should tell him, you'd spear him of some embarrassment towards your mom cause she will make some comments for sure regarding that aspect of your life.
I mean she could say 'how's your sex life going' and your boyfriend could reply 'what sex life' and then everything would be I don't know... So tell him to be prepared to have some answers write down and to present his intentions for the future:))

i think you should tell him so he wont be nervous if he is then it is awkard for you to then, but then agian he might not think it is a bad thing. but make sure that if you told him something about your mum that you shouldnt then make sure that he doesnt bring it up ( thats bad for you and your mum) so its best if you tell him and cross your fingers that all i can tell you my advise if your are a daddy's girl best to tell him first so he wont kill him before he gets to meet your mum

You should tell him first. The most important thing is to be yourselves still. It will all be revealed later he shouldnt put on an act of good behaviour.
