go to http://moon.google.com and zoom in all the way. you'll see what our moon is made of.

some are made out of gas such as methane frozen or a chunk of water in orbit that is frozen or iron sorounded in gass and water or just a giant rock you need to understand a moon is a minor planet they arrnt moons they are planets that are consdierably smaller than there hosts that have them in the major planets orbit wich then the major planets orbit is in orbit with the solar systems star right nowe there is 8 major planets because someone decided pluto is a minor planet they r right and right now in our solar system there are about 680 minor planets and astriods dont count so just different materials gasses liquids solids or mix of the three.
