I'm not sure but he could be a smaller kind of Shiba Inu or just still a small puppy, and because of Akamaru's red colour, I don't think it's unlikely.

Akamaru... well, "Aka" in Japanese means red because he can turn red when fighting... there aren't many dogs out there that can do that so I'm betting he's just some random ninja dog unknown to us poor un-ninja americans. :(

i think he's some type of terrier...maybe related to a jack russel...but they took out the markings...thats all i can think of. hope it helps. btw itz akamaru. just to let ya kno.
