My youngsters love the place the Wild issues are Goodnight Moon Runaway Bunny Pat the Bunny The Very Hungry Caterpillar in case you supply A Mouse A Cookie each and every of the Curious George Books The Lorax (that's a superb books with a brilliant message)

I am 49 yrs old and I really don't remember what was my fave. But my youngest daughter who is 17 now absolutely loved Goodnight Moon. I bet we read that 3,000 times!!! Well maybe not that many but an aw-full lot of times.
And my older daughter liked The Velveteen Rabbit, actually they both liked it alot also.

There is a book that says something like "I love you forever, I'll like you for always as long as I'm living my baby you'll be" Super awesome book and it use to make me cry everytime I would read it! I also liked "The places you'll go" Dr. Suess and "The cat in the hat"...who doesn't love dr. suess books. ;)
