It takes me to the page that says their may be a problem but check you internet connection junk. I did that and it still doesn't work, only 2 sites though. One of those is yahoo mail, the other is utah.edu. Both work fine on other computers. Utah.edu hasn't worked for me for weeks while yahoo mail just started today. I am on a new computer and it works fine, any help will be appreciated. By the way it is a pretty new dell laptop with windows XP and a wifi connection that works. (all other sites work)

You need to click on Tools, then click on internet options, then click on privacy, there should be a bar that you can turn down to make your settings a little less loose.

It could be your internet provider, but probably not.
Let's try a few things. If the first one works, don't bother with the second. etc.

1. Right-click on Internet Explorer on your desktop and go to Internet Options (Properties). Go to the connections tab. Click the Lan Settings button. Set it to autodetect. all others should be unchecked. Click ok, then ok again.

2. Clear our your dns cache. Go to start/run type in CMD and hit enter. then type "ipconfig /flushdns" (without quotes) and hit enter. then type exit and hit enter.

3. Something is probably wrong with your hosts file. Open notepad, and go to the file menu, choose open, and navigate to this file: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts . Then see if it has an entry for mail.yahoo.com or utah.edu. if it does, delete those lines. Save the file, and then reboot.

4. Go to start/run type in CMD and hit enter. Then type "tracert mail.yahoo.com" (without quotes) and hit enter. This will tell you, "house for house" on the way to mail.yahoo.com. If you get one with * * * * * then it is stopping at that point in the journey. It's not your computer then. You can type EXIT and hit enter then to close the window.

If all of these fail, try getting firefox and see if you can load the sites then. If you still can't, then there is a problem with the internet connection.
