I've seen so many home less people out on the streets! I just wanted to know.

probably because how they are dressed and people do not think they are like people that are like responsible and probably because they look druggy because thay do not have a place to live or take showers and so that is probably why!!!

A) you think you can just wake up in the gutter, comb the leaves and mud out of your hair, and report to work? homeless people CANNOT practice normal hygiene or appearance.
B) nobody wants to hire you when you have no address or phone number. it makes you very difficult to get a hold of.
C) if you are homeless, people automatically ASSUME it's because you either have a drug problem, or are mentally unstable. this makes you VERY undesirable as an employee.
D) most homeless people do not have current or valid ID, and they do not have the money to get it, either.
E) temporary day labor, like labor ready, is open to the homeless, but living on the streets is already very tiring and physically taxing.
F) some homeless people dont WANT to find jobs. believe it or not, some people are homeless BY CHOICE. there are still people who don't believe in living stationary, "normal" lives. some people chose to be nomadic wanderers, always drifting from place to place. (i did this for a year, and i loved it.)

Well, first of all, your question was posted in the wrong category.
Secondly, many homeless people don't want jobs or are simply unemployable due to mental disorders or alcohol/drug dependency. That's not to say that all homeless people aren't capable of working, but remember that there is a reason they are homeless in the first place and more often than not it's because of some dependency on drugs or alcohol.
There are many clinics and social services that attempt to rehabilitate homeless people and connect them with jobs, but they generally don't last or don't have the motivation or ability to find a job.

When you don't have an address or phone for the employer to contact you so you can be hired it causes a big problem. Also lack of clean clothes a place to wash. Some want very bad to work but it's hard to find a way when you have literally nothing.

I figure it like this if they had jobs they would be able to pay for a place to stay......... but there are situations where due to job lay offs plant closings ect that force some people onto the streets but they normally get a job doing something if its only flipping burgers

i dont think n e body wud jus pick up some homeless person and say "hey, do u want a job?" do u think tht if they had a job they wud b homeless???
