Just bought the new Wii, was wondering, if I were to keep it ontop of my speaker (I have a pair of massive floor speakers) would it cause any harm to the wii over time?

They're unshielded, and powerful enough to distort the T.V. picture from 5 feet away.

better safe than sorry...
and that is one myth everybody think its true.. magnets dont harm harddrives.. did you know that a harddrive has two somewhat powerful magnets in them?.. yeah. take one apart.. youll see..

"Simply holding a magnet to the hard drive case will not likely destroy computer data contained therein because most hard drive assemblies are
designed to shield the drive from disruptive magnetic fields. It takes a very powerful commercial grade magnetic field to penetrate the hard drive enclosure to actually impact the platters inside." - Computer Forensics Investigation.

I'm not sure what type of memory the Wii uses, but I know magnets can wipe out a harddrive. I'd be worried about that.
