I'm 13 and 5-10 and I play center
On defense you always want to keep you hands up straight when your man is shooting the ball. The referrees look to call the shooting foul on the bigger player. Centers also need to increase there vertical leap sometimes they are not very athletic. If you can jump higher than the other man that makes him either back of or foul you. When you are around the basket you always want to keep the ball at your chin if you bring the ball down to your waist level then the smaller players will be all over the ball. Also around the basket you want to square your shoulders up to the hoop and face it before you make anymoves. (triple threat position) Good Luck hope i helped.

And learn to be very aggressive. You can't be scared or passive and play down low. You have to be willing to put a body on someone and mix it up. Be aggressive!!!!
Also work on your post moves contstantly.
