If there is an infection you need anti biotics. Go to the Dr. b/c you don't want it to spread to your kidneys and become something more serious.

AZO makes at-home test strips so you can see if you have an infection. They also make pills that will relieve the symptons. You can buy at a CVS. Also-drinks lots and lots of fluids and cranberry juice - make sure you drink juices with as much fruit juice as possible.

My dear ladies, lots of us suffer from UTI, even me, I get it quite often. But when I m unable to go to the Doctor or buy medicines because they r very far from my home. All I do is take a basin of hot water, not very hot, u should be able to bear the heat. Then put some vinegar and sit in it, till the water turns cold. You will really know the difference. This simple home treatment works. Please go and see the doctor as soon as possible. UTI is really painful and disturbing etc.

lots and lots of cranberries (with lots of water) or real cranberry juice. you have to drink almost the whole gallon or liter bottle of juice and then wait a about 3-4 hours before you feel a diffrence. it does not always cure them though. for a seriouse infection you need antibiotics. so if you try the cranberries and are not feeling better with in 5 or 6 hours call your doc. a UTI left untreated can cause all sorts of problems besides just that awful pain. they can lead to blader infections that can lead to kidney infections.

This is a serious question with a lot of answers by people who do not know the truth.

There is no cure for a UTI except antibiotics. If you let the infection stay, you will risk a kidney infection.

Cranberry juice is way too acidic to use while you have an infection. This is an old wives tale. You can drink it when you have a healthy urinary tract .
Get to the doctor. Hope you feel better soon.

sit in the bucket for about 15 minutes.
After a couple hours you will not have anymore burning sensation while urinating and the urging sensation
and burning will also disappear. Pass it down to your friends and daughters in the future. Its the only thing that gives me relief right away.

cranberry juice- or they make it pill form if you want to go that route- and garlic pills - there's no smell lol and it's great for any infection- plus about a gallon of water a day, seriously. you can cure an infection if you are fast enuf but if you get flu like symptoms and chills go to the dr!

Cranberry juice is a good start. Some of the reseach that i've done suggests that D-Manose will cure a UTI that is caused by E-Coli. 90% of all UTI's are caused by e-coli.

There is no OTC cure for a UTI. You need antibiotics. You can prevent them by drinking lots of water and cranberry juice (100% juice not the cocktail), but if you already have a UTI, you need medicine that only a Dr can prescribe.
