Are you by any chance referring to the phoenetic (or phonetic) alphabet as used by radio operators, police, and the military?

A-Alpha, B-Bravo, C-Charlie, etc?

There are numerous links to listings available on direct search. I'll give you the "top three".

The US Army's link is www.army.com/alphabet.html.

The US Navy link (with historical references & semiphore flag equivalences) is www.history.navy.mil/faqs/faq101-1.htm.

The International Radio Operators link is www.hjo3.net/ppl/IROPA.htm.

If you just want a comparison between the military & civilian phoenetic alphabets there is an elementary chart by the sherwood police at www.sherwoodpolice.org/phoenetic_alphabet.html.

For some reason it was much easier to access these links from the yahoo search site than to do so directly.

Good Luck. Hope this is what you were looking for.
