an imaginary refuge when you got angry as a kid? When my parents didn't buy the toys I wanted or as much chocolate as I wanted I always imagined that i could just run away from home and build myself a cabin in the forest where nobody could find me, lol...

I always pictured myself with my Grandpa because he was the one I always turned to for help or when I was upset or angry. I was close to my Grandpa so even just imagining being with him cheered me up, or I'd think of all the fun things we would do like going fishing or something like that.

I guess I kinda had one. When I was little and things where kinda goin crazy at home I'd go into the woods near my house and imagine it was the perfect place something different everytime, the trees would dissappear and i'd b on a gorgeus desert island or sumthing like that.

I did & I still visit it in my mind. It was a cabin in the woods built by my grandpa & much like the one he built in northern Michigan only much further away from anyone else. In my mind, I watched him hammer every nail & raise every wall one timber at a time until it was finished furniture and all.

It is a wonderful place to retreat to when I need a bit of peace and calm in the turbulent world of chaos we live in.

I had a tree house in the back yard, that could be anything I imagined it to be, and that was my refuge as a kid.

When I was about 6 or 7 I would go hide under the desk in the study when I got mad or wanted to run away. Sometimes my friend would come with me and we'd go there to talk about these mean girls in our class. We called it our headquarters, lol.

i had a cove off the river i grew up next to that was way upstream and i thought no one knew of it but me. in my mind that was where i wanted to run away to and live all by myself, in the woods next to "my" cove. imagine my dismay when a few years later that whole area became a high end housing development....

Ha ha... I dreamed about going into a tree house, somewhere far far away... or I would just go blank.... or go to rolling green hills with lots of monarch butterflies!
