Me and my ex-boyfriend broke up last year christmas and i meet someone esle that i'm in a relationship with now. anyway my mother invited my ex-boyfriend over for Thankgiving dinner. she know i still care for him. but i feel like she don't respect the relationship that i'm in . what do you do i love my mother but i'm thinking about not showing up to her house Thankgiving.

I don't believe I would be inconsiderate to my new man by taking him into such an uncomfortable situation.
That wasn't a very thoughtful thing your mom did by inviting the X. Does she not like the new guy?

maybe its cuz she still isn't used to u having this new bf around? i'm not too sure. but i think u shud still go to ur mom's for thanksgiving. maybe afterwards, when everyone's gone, u can have a nice long chat with her. ask her how she feels about your new relationship. things will only get worse if you don't try to solve it. at least thats what i think

explain to her how you feel about the situation. she clearly likes the ex, and doesn't seem to be having a second thought about what it will do to you to have him there. if she continues acting this way, inform her that if she likes him so much, she should try dating him. after all. he is an ex for a reason!!

I say dont show up its only turkey day.....spend the day with your new boyfriend as just the two of y'all or with his family....you can always see your mother the day before thanksgiving or the day after

WHY WOULD YOUR MOTHER DO THAT, WERE YOU AND YOUR CURRENT BOYFRIEND GOING TO ATTEND HER DINNER?? YOUR CURRENT BOYFRIEND PROBABLY WILL FEEL A LITTLE WEIRD WITH YOUR EX THERE, HOW SELFISH OF YOUR MOTHER NOT TO SEEK YOUR OPINION ON THE SITUATION FIRST...I JUST WOULDN'T SHOW UP.

if your ex knows that you are in a relationship now, maby he won't show up. maybe you should give him a call and let him know that you don't think that it would be a good idea for him to come.

tell your mom that she should respect your relationship andlet you move on, inviting your ex was not a smooth move. you moved on and so should she.
