No, Penny knifed Sallie in the stomach because Sallie told her she was pregnant by Penny's father and was taunting her about it. Penny just wanted to kill the baby, but she ended up killing Sallie as well.

The teacher/coach was the baby's father.
His daughter killed the girl, by accident in a way, she wanted to kill the baby--she was pretty hung-up on her dad.
Curtis went to jail for killing the retired policeman.
The teacher is charged with criminal sexual misconduct and his wife wants nothing to do with him.
Miss Tennyson retires and joins AA.
