Because Native Americans wanted to stop the American colonists from taking their lands away from them. Don't forget that the French hated the British and their colonists so much, that they allied with the Native Americans to fight off the colonists and the Brits.

So you have 2 forces, the French and the Indians, with common goals as to fight off the colonists, which is the Americans. Why did the French involved in the war? They were competing with the British in North America, and ofcourse they wanted to take control of North America. All the Indians wanted was to get their lands back from the colonists.

Far longer than European colonization was a blood feud between the Algonquin and the Iroquois. When the French first began settling modern Canada, they intervened in a flare-up between the two nations on the side of the Algonquin. The Iroquois never forgave them. So during the many Anglo-French wars in america, the Iroquois consistently allied with the British and the Algonquin always sided with the French--including during the French and Indian War.

i'm uncertain, yet i think of the Sioux could have been a splash some distance west to be in touch in the French and Indian Wars, that modify into by and massive in the jap US and specific Canada. Upstate ny exchange into the positioning of a few battles, i think of, possibly Pennsylvania. The Sioux could have definitely been in Minnesota then, or the Dakotas. White fur trappers could have long previous that some distance, yet squaddies, etc weren't that some distance west,

Agree (almost) completely with Tank D but he forgot the Iroquis who fought for the British. So in summary of tank D they fought because of promises of land, (britain gave all land between mississippi river and appalachian mtns. to Native americans (colonists didn't respect that)), trade and weapons to hunt and fight with.
