If you have to look at the pricetag, that's an indication that you should be looking into other stores. Diamonds are rating according to color, clarity, cut and carat weight according to a scale developed by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Therefore, you can get the best rated diamond at Tiffany's and pay a premium for the blue box, or you can buy the best rated diamond somewhere else and pay substantially less. Go by the quality of the diamond in the size you want (as long as its properly appraised).

Tiffany has really beautiful jewelry at an incredibly high mark up. My rule for Tiffany's is that if I can only get the item from them, then it's worth it. If I can buy the item from my local jewelry store then I don't buy it at Tiffany's. You would be better off buying the earrings from a local store. Always compare prices and quality when buying diamonds and look for ones that are pretty and sparkly. I know that seems like a no-brainer but you'd be surprised at how many people get caught up in the clarity/carat/cut and ignore what the diamond itself is like.

Hi,
Last Christmas my friend bought a Necklace at Tiffany's and then bought her daughter the same Necklace (just slightly different)
Then my friend went back to Tiffany's to buy the matching bracelet for herself.
My friend spent alot of money between the 2 necklaces and the bracelet but she didn't care.
Now it's a year later and my friend and her daughter rarely wear their Tiffany's jewelry.
I think my friend just wanted to go Tiffany's just because of the name...now that she really doesnt seem to care about her expensive jewelry.
Sometimes paying more more isn't really worth it.

It is totally the name. And I personally think that people that only wear Tiffany are uncreative and materialistic. Yeah, have a few cute pieces if you want. But don't think people admire you cause you have it. Do you really think you are stylish wearing the same bracelet as 75% of the teenage population of girls??

Well, you're paying for quality. And quality is what you get. Have you ever been in a Tiffany's store? It's breathtaking. Flawless.

If you want. I'm not sure how their stones stack up, but I do know that their metal is hollowed out. It's not solid, so their metal is not worth the money. And sometimes they do plate their jewelry. Don't just buy it because of the name, go somewhere else that has a better reputation and has solid, and real jewelry.

You are not paying for quality! I know of pleanty of better quality brands that cost less but do not have the name on it all big. It is the same thing as spending $80 on a polo shirt with the little logo, or buying a target brand one.

Is just the brand the cost more money. You can probably get the diamond earrings somewhere else cheaper.
