Take a pregnancy test when you do not have your period. Use your first morning urine, as hormone levels will be highest. If back pain continues, regardless of the test outcome, go to the doctor. You may have something else, such as a kidney infection, and probably need blood tests, urine tests, and a checkup. Please do not wait!

Taking a pregnancy test while you are having a period will mess up the test. You will not get an acurate reading. Yu can however go to a Planned Parenthood and get a test.
