I've never understood why men wear them unless they are a Chippendales dancer or a male stripper.
And if you've really ever noticed, the men who wear them are usually totally out of shape and the sort you don't want to see in one.
Men, a few words: boxers or boxer briefs.

for the same reason girls do-to hide the lining of their underwear when they wear jeans, dressy pants, etc. although its more typical in girls, guys do it to! just not too many of the straight ones...

I don't know, but I've never yet seen one man who looks good wearing one. Their bums are too saggy and hairy and dirty looking.
