hello all

does anybody remember this game??? and what do they think about it??? and what are your memorys about playing it, was it really better than civ 2???

Yes it's better than civ2, because I'm still playing it. This is due to the fact you can make your own units and give them names like the A5$ Buster. I have a probe that can cruise the waves. A probe... you can guess what I named that one. And watching your planet turn from one that's hostile with pink fungus to one that resembles an early earth where the forests keep expanding. The AI is so good that sometimes you can feel the personality of the leaders (watch out for Miriam she's a terrorist in disguise.)

The only improvement they can make to alpha is possibly travel to other planets systems - global colonization!

I've never maxed out on weapons (unfortunately the game is always over before then due to my democratic wins.) There's a gender bug in the game, you just can't change gender! but this isn't too much of a problem.

Don't know if I'd call it better, but yeah, the game rocked. It did have one advantage over any Civ game, you could trade for votes in the planetary government.

And how did I ever forget the ability to make your own units. Man I really need to break this one out and play it again.

It's really tough to say which is better, we are talking about two of the greatest strategy games ever.
