Generally 1/10 mile except for NY City, where N-S blocks are 1/20th mile

If 8 city blocks equal a mile then the answer is france. No really its 660 feet which is 1/8th of a mile.

Well, it depends on the city, I would think, but in New York, a mile is generally considered to be about 20 blocks. So, one block would be one-twentieth of a mile, or 0.05 miles.

Depends. In Portland city blocks are 200 ft, which they say is half of the "standard" size (a mile is 5280 feet). I know Chicago is mostly 1/8 mile.
