Yes, it is time for a playoff! Use BCS to rank teams based on record against strength of schedule, then have them seeded 1-16 for a playoff using BCS bowl game sites.

Of course their should be a playoff. It's not going to happen any time soon. The economics of the bowl invitation system, and BCS are too compelling. Until a system can be proposed that would guarantee the revenue, it won't happen.

Say this for the BCS, at least it does take into account strength of schedule, and quality wins. People forget how bad it was when it was just the human polls. It was even more subjective, and prone to favoritism and self-interest.

If USC runs the table, they deserve a shot. They played a heavy schedule. OSU would have to beat Michigan twice? They have to go 2-0 for a title, but Michigan could go 1-1 and take the marbles? Crap. Michigan had their shot. Buh-bye.

Teams need to improve their non-conference schedules, and stop beating on Quesadilla State, and Waffle House University. You make your luck.

First of all-OSU would have beat Michigan in Michigan as well. That's nonsense. That game was not that close. Datish-the center and his 2 bad snaps is the ONLY reason that game was close. Most of that game it was an 11-14 point lead by the Buckeyes. TRoy Smith domintaed that team. Michigan is gone. USC and Florida get a shot at the Buckeyes. If not--YES,a huge YES with an exclamation point for a playoff system. You have the entire month of December where you could take the top 8 teams in college football and have them play in warm weather neutral locations. Being a Buckeye fan I do not have any sympathy for Michigan-they lost their shot to a superior team. USC and Florida -one of those teams deserves a play at THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES.

Yes, they should have a playoff. Michigan is the best team in the country besides OSU. THey dominated all of their opponents this year. ND is way overrated, they have had one good opponent and that was Michigan, who they got crushed by, at home. They also should have lost to Mich St and UCLA. Florida putting up 63 on Chump St this weekend, big deal. If USC wins out, I think they should play OSU, although a rematch against Michigan is the best National Title game. Go Wisconsin!

Hell yes Michigan should get a rematch, The Patriots got a rematch against the Steelers in the AFC title game before super bowl 39 where they went on to beat the eagles and win the superbowl, but that is the NFL. But yes there should be a playoff in the NCAA for the top 7 seeds with the 1st ranked team getting a bye round

It's way past time to scrap the BCS (bull crap system) and institute a playoff system, possibly using the NFLs' model and rweeking it to fit the NCAA. I agree, Michigan lost, period. No second chance. What if Michigan and Ohio State played for the national championship and Michigan won? Whould we then have co-national champions since Ohio State once beat Michigan? That would not be fair. That's the mess of the BCS.

i does not carry your breath in this. The powers that be, some Conf. commishes, college presidents and BCS and Bowl officers will combat this to the tip. i admire the certainty that congress is getting in touch so as that sometime the sole game that would not have a play-off can finally settle issues on the sphere. yet for as long as this argument has been available, even a conceivable act of Congress won't make it ensue quickly. the object states , —“the bill will restrict the merchandising and marketing, merchandising, and merchandising of a postseason activity as a ‘national championship’ soccer activity, except it relatively is the effect of a playoff equipment". If this does bypass somebody will only detect a thank you to industry it some different thank you to be in compliance with the bill. Too many people and businesses make too plenty funds on the bowl video games. somebody will detect a loophole.

I'm a Michigan State fan, so it hurts to say this. But it is the truth, so I must.
Michigan lost because it was at Ohio State. If it was at Michigan, they would have won. So, Michigan definitely deserves the chance for a rematch at a neutral field. Add to that the fact that they lost by only a field goal... no question there needs to be a rematch.
